Socially Speaking – January 2022
December 29th – After Christmas Club run – 29 people set off on the run on a hot day, and 4 more members joined us for lunch at the Tea Tree Gully Public House. Thanks to Kate Berlemon for setting the run, which took in grape vines, sheep, beautiful scenery and all so close to town!
Due to Covid and its restrictions, some of our events have been cancelled, but we are attempting to keep the social side of things going with outdoor events.
The All-British Day has been cancelled, so we have decided to have a picnic run, with BYO Lunch, chairs, tables and drinks to Gumeracha. This way we will be outdoors and can socially distance!
March we will also have an outdoor run with a club supplied lunch (Covid style) to again enjoy the fresh air and keep within the Covid restrictions. This will be on March 13th (Adelaide Cup Weekend) to avoid MSCA clash on the 20th.
April will also be a simple outdoor event. We have booked into the Tramway Museum at St. Kilda.
The Day of Triumph is being looked at, at present with possibly being held on April 3rd. Details to follow.
The weekender this year, will only be a one nighter, due to Covid and hopefully next year we can go back to a two nighter, and do the Riverland and the Silo’s.
It’s a crazy world we are living in at present, but we hope you all stay safe and look forward to seeing you on some fun outdoor runs!
