Thanks to everyone who stood for positions on the club executive at last month’s meeting. It was great to have all positions filled, by the incumbents from last year. It is great to have everyone continue, however it would be great to see some other members put their hands up at some stage in the future (e.g. at the next AGM), to share the load of running the club.

A very big thanks to Dean Berlemon and Lisa Macleod for organising and running last Sunday’s Day of Triumph. It was very successful, and although there was the odd hint of rain, it held off until after the end of the event. There were 28 Triumphs on display, although only around half of these were presented for judging.  Thanks also Dean and Lisa’s helpers, the ever-reliable Ian Rigby, Dean and Marg Bogisch for tallying the results and those club members who helped with the judging and marshalling.

We also had the great ongoing support from Dino and Lisa Vettese and Café Primo, who offered heavily discounted breakfasts for the early bird attendees, as well as providing coffee and pizzas to the judging team.

Special congratulations to Simon Manser for being the overall concours winner in his beautiful TR6. Simon’s car will be on stage at the October meeting, so I won’t steal his thunder, other than to say he has done an incredible restoration job.

The Bay to Birdwood is on Sunday 18^th October, and registrations have now closed. Duane is setting up a meeting spot outside the paddock at Barrett Reserve, West Beach, to allow members to travel together to Birdwood. For those who can’t get there to joining this main group, Duane is also suggesting that the main group could stop somewhere in the north eastern suburbs to allow others to catch up and then travel as a single group to Birdwood.

Dean Berlemon is also proposing that any club member who wants to watch the Bay to Birdwood can join him and family outside Prices Fresh Bakery Café at 463 North East Road, Hillcrest from 9.00am onwards.  There is coffee and bakery goods available at Prices, so this is an ideal location to watch the passing procession.

The 2027 SA Nationals Committee now has the final program and costs in place. Past SA president, Mike Temby, who is now Queensland TSOA president will make the presentation on our behalf, as I am unable to get to the Nationals this year. I will do the same presentation to our club at our October meeting, where registrations of interest will open.  I encourage all SA members to start thinking about attending the 2027 event. I can assure you that it will be a great week.

The Christmas/Presentation dinner will be at the Royal Adelaide Golf Club on Saturday 21^st November. Bookings now open. Please contact Carol Onody if you wish to attend. This is a club sponsored event and we always have a great meal in a superb setting at RAGC.

We had two cars on stage at the September meeting. Kym Miller has a very nice white TR6, which he has owned for around 3 years. Despite having been restored back in the 1990’s, it is still in excellent condition, and Kym has been right through the mechanics of the car.  Ivan Powell brought his white TR5, which he purchased via an on-line auction held in Tasmania when he was in Europe. The car proved to have more mechanical challenges than he had anticipated, however he has undertaken substantial work on it this year, and it now performs very well.

Finally, I have made an appeal to all members to get more help with the supper roster. Mark Griffin continues source lots of bakery items from Banjos, Glenelg, and we are very grateful for this. Nathan Parkes provided sandwiches for a second month, however most members have yet to offer to assist. I would appreciate more help so please, if you are a regular meeting attendee, please consider putting your hand up for one meeting through the year.
