August 21^st was the run to Melba’s Chocolate Factory in Woodside. Thanks to Sue and Rory for setting the run for us. Although there were only 7 members and 3 grandchildren who attended, those who went had a great day and certainly boosted Melba’s income for the day!

Our get wishes go to Alex Smithson, Peter Davidge and Sue and Rory Gibson who have all come down with Covid…hope you all feel better soon.

September 7^th is a mid-week run, lunch at the Duck Inn 383 Main Road Coromandel Valley at 12.30pm.  Please advise Lawrie Placing if attending phone: 0407286194.

Sixteen members enjoyed our trip to Garden Grove Garden Centre on Sunday July 24^th. Some had breakfast, followed by coffee, followed by Lunch!  We were lucky to have Steve the head gardener give us a talk about the new plants in season, the insecticides, indoor plants, roses and natives to plant.  A great morning had by all!

Socially Speaking for July 2022

The weekender went well with 26 Adults and 1 Child attending.  We managed to dodge most of the rain, and all events went ahead!  We visited two car museums – one at Tottness – Classic Car Studio – fabulous place, and one at Mypolonga- Revolution Motor Museum – as well as the Aussie Apricots at Mypolonga. Great places to visit.

June 26^th was a club run with the Trophy Presentations from the Day of Triumph.  Meals for members were subsidized by $10.00.  27 Members enjoyed the run and Lunch at Mick O’Shea’s Irish Pub, South Road, Hackham. Peter and Ian presented the Day of Triumph Trophies to the winners for the day. Thanks to Sue and Rory for organising this for us.

July 24^th – a visit to Garden Grove Garden Centre – the head gardener is giving us a talk about the latest plants to plant, and what is coming into season.

Congratulations to Dean and Lisa on their Wedding at Lindsay Estate Winery on April 30^th.

Lisa arrived in the white 2500 PI Saloon, with a very proud Father-in-law driving her to the wedding.

The weekender is coming up and the plans are in place.  Just now praying for good weather, as the forecast is not so good! We have 27 Adults and 1 Child attending, so it should be a good weekend! Meet at Burnside Town Hall at 9.00 am to depart at 9.15 am.

Socially Speaking for May 2022

April, we booked into the Tramway Museum at St. Kilda. We had a tour of the facilities before the public arrived. We had an early lunch so we could ride on the trams from 12.20 pm. 20 Adults and 5 grandchildren enjoyed the day, travelling to St Kilda and back on each of the three trams available on the day.

The Day of Triumph was held at Civic Park also in April, and a great day was had by all. Many thanks to Ian Rigby and team for a successful day.

The weekender planning is going ahead.  The dates are May 28^th and 29^th.  We have secured visits to two classic car venues, which are both amazing.  The Murray Bridge Classic Car Club is also hosting us for dinner on the Saturday evening, so a fun weekend is planned. Bookings are essential, please advise Margie if attending (0438836837) the cost will be $ 130.00 per person twin share. Payment to Alex by May 6th . . . 15 rooms are reserved and 14 rooms are already taken!
